Taekwon-Do tournaments usually include three events, pattern, sparring and destruction. There are individual and team categories in some events while other events only have individual categories. Individual events stretch the participants’ competence in Taekwon-Do techniques and physical abilities like speed, agility, stamina and power. To excel in team events, besides participants’ competencies and physical abilities, team spirit and cohesion must be present.

Intervarsity Traditional TKD Tournaments
One of the major events that is organized by NTU traditional Taekwon-Do club is Invitational Intervarsity Taekwon-Do Tournament. The club has hosted the eight Invitational Intervarsity tournaments to date. Universities from as far away as north Malaysia are invited to participate in the tournament. The club is also been invited to Intervarsity Tournaments held in Malaysia. Over the years, the club has built strong bonds with clubs and universities in Malaysia.

Internal Tournaments
To improve standards and building team spirits within the club, internal tournaments are also held in the club. The events held are similar to the tournaments hosted in and outside NTU. Internal tournaments are also held during training camps.
